Overview
JFL QND-4 coated four cups are Viscometers manufactured according to the national standard GB/T1723-93 "Paint Viscosity Determination Method". They are used to determine the conditional viscosity of coatings and are suitable for paint products with a viscosity of less than 150 seconds. The upper part of the Viscometer is cylindrical and the lower part is a conical container. There are three materials: bakelite, aluminum and copper. The metal material shall prevail. Measurement range is 10-150 seconds.
Features
1. Comply with the national standard GB/T1723-93
2. Suitable for coating products with a viscosity of less than 150 seconds
3. Provide cup body selection of three materials: bakelite, aluminum and copper
4. Measurement range 10-150 seconds, high accuracy
5. Portable models do not require a level, easy to operate
Principle
The Viscometer represents conditional viscosity in seconds by measuring the time required for a certain amount of specimen to flow out of a specified pore size at a specific temperature. Depending on the outflow time, the outflow time can be converted to kinematic viscosity by the formula t = 0.154v + 11 (t < 23s) or t = 0.223v + 6.0 (23s ≤ t < 150s), where t is the outflow time and v is the kinematic viscosity.
Applications
Determination of coating viscosity
Steps
1. Prepare viscosity cup, thermometer, stopwatch and level (Portable does not need level)
2. Pour the sample into the viscosity cup
3. Keep the viscosity cup stable (Portable requires smooth hands)
4. Record the time required for the sample to flow out of the aperture
5. Calculate kinematic viscosity based on outflow time
