Overview
The JFL QBY paint film pendulum hardness gauge is a special instrument used to determine the Hardness of paints. Its technical feature is that Hardness is expressed in the ratio of the time required for the pendulum to swing in a specified amplitude on the paint film to the time required for the same amplitude on the Glass plate.
Features
1. Designed according to national standards, the measurement results are reliable.
2. Using the pendulum structure, Measurement accuracy is high.
3. Equipped with a wide range Timer, the timing range can reach 999.9 seconds.
4. Compact structure, Dimensions of 200 * 150 * 570 mm.
Principle
The working principle of this hardness gauge is based on the damped oscillation of a physical pendulum. The instrument swings at a specified angle (from 5 degrees to 2 degrees) on the surface of the paint film through a standard mass swing rod (120g). The time ratio is the Hardness characterization value of the paint film by precisely timing the time required for the swing rod to decay on the surface of the paint film to a specified amplitude and comparing it with the time required for the same swing rod to swing at the same amplitude on a standard Glass plate (440 +/- 6 seconds).
Applications
Determination of Hardness of Paint Film
Steps
1. Place the instrument smoothly on the paint film sample to be tested.
2. Make sure the swing rod is clean and lift it to the starting position (at a 5-degree angle).
3. Release the swing rod to swing freely on the surface of the paint film.
4. Use Timer to record the time required for the swing bar amplitude to decay from 5 degrees to 2 degrees.
5. Sexual repeability measurement, take the average value to calculate.
Compare the measured time with the swing time of the swing bar on a standard Glass plate (440 +/- 6 seconds) to obtain the Hardness ratio.
Notice
• Before use, ensure that the instrument is placed smoothly, and the surface of the tested paint film is flat, clean and drying.
• The swing rod is a precision part and should be handled with care to avoid bumping.
• During measurement, ensure that the fulcrum of the swing rod is in good contact with the surface of the paint film.
• Regularly verify with a standard Glass plate that the instrument's base swing time is within 440 +/- 6 seconds.
• The instrument should be stored in a drying, non-corrosive gas environment.
