Overview
PUSHEN PS 1020/8 ISO flow cup is designed and manufactured according to international standard ISO2431-1993 and national standard GB/T6753.4-98, used to test the outflow time of Newtonian or similar Newtonian liquids. The model has an outflow aperture of 8mm, the cup body is made of anodic oxidation aluminum, and the nozzle material is stainless steel.
Features
1. Design and manufacture according to international standard ISO2431-1993 and national standard GB/T6753.4-98.
2. Used to test the outflow time of Newtonian or near-Newtonian liquids.
3. The cup body is made of anodic oxidation aluminum, and the nozzle is made of stainless steel, which is sturdy and durable.
4. Special brackets can be purchased separately for use.
Principle
The ISO flow cup evaluates the flow characteristics of a liquid by measuring the time it takes for a volume of liquid to completely flow out of a standard aperture under gravity. The flow time is related to the kinematic viscosity of the liquid and can be calculated using standard formulas.
Applications
Determination of outflow time of Newtonian or near-Newtonian liquids such as coatings and varnishes
Standards
ASTM D 5125、ISO 2431
Steps
1. Before or after measurement, repeatedly wipe the inner wall with fine gauze dipped in solution, twist it into a rope with soft paper, and repeatedly pull it clean in the outflow hole.
2. Put the flow cup on the bracket and adjust the bracket level.
3. Prepare a stopwatch with an accuracy of 0.1 seconds while holding the outflow hole with your hand.
4. Slowly pour the measured liquid with controlled temperature into the flow cup to avoid bubbles. When the liquid exceeds the mouth of the cup, scrape it flat with a scraper or Glass.
5. Start the stopwatch and quickly release the finger that presses the outflow hole. When the outflow liquid is interrupted, press the stopwatch instantly to record the outflow time.
Notice
• The stopwatch needs to be brought by yourself, and the accuracy requirement is 0.1 seconds.
• The flow cup holder is an optional accessory.
• Thoroughly clean the inner wall and outflow hole of the flow cup before and after measurement.
• When pouring the tested liquid, it should be slow to avoid bubbles.
• In order to obtain more accurate data, the outflow time can be measured multiple times and the average value can be calculated.
