Overview
LENETA Form RP-1K Opacity Chart is a professional paper for preparing free films for organic coatings. It is sealed on both sides, with a Gloss surface on one side and a Gloss-free surface on the other. The Gloss surface is coated with a silicon Resin coating with uniform release, designed to prevent excessive crawling of solvent-based or water-based paints, while ensuring that the film after drying is easy to disbond. This product is recommended for use in ASTM D 4708 standard specification for films required for the preparation of tests such as ASTM D 2370 (tensile strength of organic coatings), ASTM D 1653 (water vapor transmission rate of organic coatings), etc.
Features
1. Double-sided design: one side has Gloss and the other side has no Gloss, meeting different testing requirements.
2. Special coating: Gloss surface has a uniform release of silicon Resin coating, effectively prevent excessive coating crawling.
3. Easy to disbond: The coating design allows the film to be easily disbonded after drying.
Standard Application Designed for compliance with standards such as ASTM D 4708 to ensure test accuracy and repeatability.
5. Clear specifications: Standard size and Encasement are provided for easy laboratory use and management.
Principle
The cardboard functions through its special Gloss top coating. The homogeneous silicon Resin coating on the Gloss surface provides a low surface tension release surface. When the organic coating (whether solvent or aqueous) Spreader is on this surface, the coating effectively limits the excessive spread or "crawl" of the coating, resulting in a uniform film. After coating drying curing, the dried film can be easily disbonded completely from the cardboard due to the release characteristics of the silicon Resin coating, obtaining a free film for subsequent physical performance testing.
Applications
Organic coating test film preparation, film physical performance testing, laboratory research and quality control
Standards
ASTM D 4708、ASTM D 2370、ASTM D 1653
Steps
Prepare LENETA Form RP-1K cardboard to ensure that the work area is clean.
2. According to the test requirements, choose the Gloss surface of the cardboard (recommended for film preparation) or the Gloss-free surface.
3. Spreader the organic coating (solvent or water-based) to be tested evenly on the selected cardboard surface.
4. Carry out drying or curing according to the conditions specified by the coating product.
5. After the film through drying, carefully start from the edge of the cardboard and disbond the formed free film completely.
6. Use the disbonded free film for subsequent tensile strength, water vapor transmission, or Miscellaneous performance testing.
Notice
Please make sure that the surface of the cardboard is clean and free of contamination or damage before use.
* Spreader coating should be uniform to obtain a uniform thickness test film.
* Be sure to wait for the film through drying before disbonding to avoid film tearing or deformation.
* Be careful when disbonding the film to avoid unnecessary stress or damage to the film.
This product is a laboratory consumable, please use it reasonably according to the testing requirements.
* Encasement when storing in a drying environment.
