Overview
QXD-100 Grindometer is a SHIBO brand product, designed according to the standard GB1724-79 issued by the Ministry of Chemical Industry, used for inspection of the fineness of pigments, fillers and impurities in Paints and paint slurries. Measurement results are expressed in microns.
Features
1. The scraper size is 155 x 50 x 12 mm
2. The size of the chute is 13 × 120 mm, and the slope is 1:1000.
3. Drawdown blade size is 68 × 40 × 6 mm long
4. High accuracy: the plane straightness of the scraper is 0.003 mm, the plane straightness of the bottom of the chute is 0.003 mm, and the plane straightness of the two edges of the Drawdown blade is 0.002 mm
5. Excellent finish: scraper upper plane finish 10, chute bottom finish 8, Drawdown blade two knife edge finish 8
6. Range 0~ 100μm, Graduation 5μm
Principle
The fineness meter drops the sample of paints into the deepest part of the scraper chute, scrapes evenly from the depth of the chute to the shallow part with the Drawdown blade, observes the scale line of the particles in the chute uniformly exposed, and reads the value as the fineness of pigments and other particles in paints.
Applications
Paints inspection, paint paste inspection
Steps
1. Wash the scraper and Drawdown blade with gasoline first, dry it with cotton yarn, and then wipe it with deerskin
2. Dip the well-mixed paints to be tested with a Glass stick and drop them into the deepest part of the chute on the scraper
3. The dripping amount is to the extent that it can fill the chute with a slightly excess amount
4. Place the Drawdown blade horizontally on the top of the Drawdown blade with both thumbs, index fingers and middle fingers, so that the edges of the Drawdown blade vertically contact the surface of the Drawdown blade
5. Pull from the depths of the chute to the shallows
6. Immediately observe the scale line where the particles in the tank are evenly exposed within 5 seconds
7. Reading this value is the fineness of pigments and other particles in paints
Notice
• Thoroughly clean the scraper and Drawdown blade with gasoline before use
• After cleaning, dry it with cotton yarn and then wipe it with deerskin.
• The paints should be mixed to the consistency specified in the product standard
• The amount of dripping should be appropriate, so that it can fill the chute with a little excess
• Drawdown blade edges must contact the surface of the Drawdown blade vertically
• The scraping operation needs to be carried out from the depth of the chute to the shallow
• Observation readings must be completed within 5 seconds
