Overview
MC-3000S Coating thickness gauge is a precision measuring instrument produced by KODIN, which can quickly and non-destructive measurement of coating and platings thickness. The instrument can be used in both laboratories and engineering sites. It can meet a variety of measurement needs by using different probes, and is widely used in manufacturing, metal processing, chemical industry, commodity inspection and other testing fields.
Features
1. Using magnetic and eddy current thickness measurement methods, the thickness of nonmagnetic coating on magnetic metal substrate and nonconductive coating on nonmagnetic metal substrate can be nondestructive measurement.
6 types of probes (F0.5, F1.2, F3, F5, F10, N1.2) can be used.
3. With temperature compensation function, equipped with new "phase locked loop" technology.
4. With screen flip function, you can manually select flip to display measurement data.
5. Measurement speed can choose two modes of single measurement and continuous measurement.
6. Three methods can be used to calibrate the instrument, and the basic calibrating method can be used to correct the system error of the probe.
7. With storage function, it can store more than 10,000 measurement points.
8. With deletion function, suspicious data or all stored data in the storage group can be deleted.
9. The limit can be set, and the Measured value outside the limit can be automatically alarmed.
10. With printing function, you can connect a Bluetooth printer to print measurement data.
11. With data connection function (Bluetooth 2.0), it can communicate wirelessly with computers and printers.
12. With power undervoltage indication function.
13. There is a beep prompt during the operation.
14. There are two shutdown methods: manual shutdown and automatic shutdown.
15. The V-groove structure facilitates the measurement of coatings on the outer surface of pipes of various sizes.
16. The large flat bottom Probe structure makes the measurement more stable and Repeatability is higher.
17. Professionally designed anti-skid pad with the anti-skid texture on the back of the case, so that the operation is not easy to fatigue.
Principle
The instrument uses two thickness measurement principles: magnetic Induction and eddy current. For nonmagnetic coatings (such as zinc, aluminum, paints, etc.) on magnetic metal substrates (such as steel, iron, alloys, etc.), the magnetic method is used for measurement; for nonconductive coatings (such as rubber, paints, plastics, etc.) on nonmagnetic metal substrates (such as copper, aluminum, zinc, etc.), the eddy current method is used for measurement.
Applications
Manufacturing, metal processing, chemical industry, commodity inspection
Standards
GB/T 4956─1985、GB/T 4957─1985、JB/T 8393─1996、JJG 889─95、JJG 818─93
Steps
1. Select the appropriate probe according to the measurement substrate and coating type.
2. Select Single Measurement or Continuous Measurement mode as needed.
3. One of three methods can be used to calibrate the instrument.
4. Place the probe smoothly on the surface of the coating to be tested for measurement.
5. The measurement data can be stored, deleted or printed/transmitted via Bluetooth connection.
6. After use, you can choose to shut down manually or wait for automatic shutdown.
Notice
• Before measurement, select the appropriate probe according to the application and calibrate it.
• When measuring, ensure that the probe is in smooth contact with the measured surface.
• Pay attention to the working Ambient Temperature (-10~ + 40 ℃) and relative humidity (≤ 90% RH) of the instrument.
• Pay attention to the power undervoltage prompt and replace the battery in time.
• The instrument has an automatic shutdown function, please pay attention when not in use for a long time.
• When measuring curved surfaces such as pipes, V-groove structure can be used for better measurement results.
