Overview
The HANNA HI98319 salinity meter is a Portable measurement device designed for saline water aquariums and can measure salinity up to 70.00ppt. The instrument features a rugged waterproof design, is only 0.7 inches thick, ergonomic and comfortable to the touch. Equipped with a large multi-line LCD display, it can display salinity (ppt), practical salinity (PSU) or specific gravity (S.G.) and temperature, and the temperature unit can be switched between ° C or ° F.

Principle
The instrument uses the conductivity (EC) method to measure salinity. By measuring the conductivity of aqueous solutions, combined with rapid temperature compensation, the corresponding salinity value, practical salinity or specific gravity are calculated.

Steps
1. Press the ON/OFF key to turn it on.
2. Electrode part of the instrument is immersed in the water sample to be tested.
3. Wait for the reading to stabilize, and the LCD display will display the measurement results (you can choose to display salinity, practical salinity or specific gravity and temperature).
4. Use the calibrate key for single-point calibrating (automatic identification of the instrument, built-in 35.00ppt standard point).
5. After use, press the ON/OFF key to shut down or wait for automatic shutdown.

• Please ensure that the instrument is used in an environment of 0~ 50 ° C and a maximum of 95% RH.
• Calibrate mode is automatically recognized single point calibrate, built-in standard point is 35.00ppt.
• The instrument has an automatic shutdown function that can be manually set to 8 minutes, 60 minutes, or disabled.
• Please use the specified CR2032 button lithium battery.
• Make sure that the exposed temperature sensor is in full contact with the water sample during measurement.
• The instrument is waterproof, but do not soak for a long time or use it in an environment beyond specifications.
• The specific gravity Measurement accuracy is +/- 0.001 S.G., the salinity Measurement accuracy is +/- 1ppt in the range of 0.0 to 40.0ppt, and +/- 2ppt beyond 40.0ppt.
