Overview
The VF2201 permeation cup is a TQC sheen brand product for the determination of water vapor transmission in paints, varnishes, coatings, coating systems and related products. The permeation cup consists of a cup, a sealing ring and a cap ring. The sealing ring is designed to prevent rotation when the lid is closed. It is suitable for testing self-supporting and non-self-supporting coatings. Water vapor transmission is important in high Humidity conditions. The wet cup method is the reference method for determining the water vapor transmission rate. If otherwise agreed, the Miscellaneous procedure or conditions of the cheering method can be used.
Features
1. Level indicator
2. Width support ring
3. Easy to use
4. Non-swirling/spinning sealing ring
5. Easy to clean
Principle
Permeable cups measure water vapor transmission by either the wet cup method or the cheering method, where the wet cup method is used as a reference method under specific conditions. Product designs include sealing rings to prevent rotation and ensure accurate water vapor transmission during testing.
Standards
ISO 7783、ASTM D1653、ASTM E95
Steps
1. Prepare permeable cup, including cup, sealing ring and lid ring
2. Choose the wet cup method or the cheering method according to the test requirements
3. Close the lid and make sure the sealing ring prevents rotation
4. Conduct a water vapor transmission test
5. Record and analyze data
Notice
• Make sure the sealing ring is installed correctly to prevent leakage
• Check the level indicator before testing to ensure accuracy
• Avoid damage to anodic oxidation aluminum material when cleaning the permeable cup
Testing to relevant standards such as ISO 7783, ASTM D1653, and ASTM E95
• If using the toast method, make sure to meet the agreed conditions
