Overview
The TQC sheen SH0657 reflectivity meter is an easy-to-use Handheld device for measuring gray scale Opacity or light reflectance. It is suitable for evaluating the hiding power of coatings or performing simple shading sorting tasks on metallized films, anodic oxidation aluminium or ceramics.

Principle
The reflectivity meter works by measuring diffusely reflected light from the test surface. Under controlled Illumination conditions and illumination angles, the surface is characterized according to its luminance or darkness. A completely black surface reads 0, while a good white reading is 100 units, which is identified as a "Y" value in the Color measurement scale. It evaluates the contrast ratio (hiding power) of the paint by comparing the readings of the test sample coated on a black and white substrate.

Steps
1. Apply the test sample to a black and white card or polyester sheet, and then place it on a black and white Glass plate.
2. Take a reading in the black area of the coating.
3. Take another reading in the white part area of the coating.
Notice
• The measurement aperture is 9 * 13mm, please make sure that the measurement area meets this size.
• Equipment accuracy is +/- 1 unit or 1% (full scale), please pay attention to the measurement error range.
• Before use, make sure that the device has been calibrated using 2 standards via the button.
• The device is powered by a rechargeable battery, please pay attention to charging in time.
• Irradiation conditions are 45/0 ° and the illumination is CIE Illuminant C, please use in an environment that meets this condition to obtain accurate readings.
