Overview
The LS117 optical density meter adopts the Diffuse Transmission Measurement principle and is an advanced translucent material Transmittance meter with integrating sphere effect. Illuminant meets the CIE visual function standard, which can ensure that it has passed the measurement institute inspection. It is suitable for light transmitance and light density testing of milky white diffusion plates, zirconia, aluminized films, X-ray films, fog, frosted Glass and other materials.
Features
1. Measurement range with high accuracy, optical density measurement to 6 OD
2. Can test light transmitance and light density at the same time, and display directly on the screen
3. Adopt the principle of diffuse transmission Illuminant to meet the test requirements of milky white and mist materials, Illuminant meets the CIE visual function standard
4. Equipped with fixed seat and bracket, support fixed seat test and Probe removal test two Measurement modes
Principle
Optical density is the optical density (OD), which represents the light-shielding ability of a material, also known as Absorbance. It is defined as the logarithm of the ratio of incident ray to transmitted light or the logarithm of the reciprocal transmittance of ray of light, calculated as: OD = lg (incident ray/transmitted light) or OD = lg (1/light transmitance).
Applications
Opal Diffusion Plate, Zirconia, Aluminized Film, X-ray Film, Fog, Frosted Glass and other materials
Standards
CIE standard for visual function
Steps
1. Select Measurement mode: Fixed seat test or remove Probe test
2. Point the instrument at the material to be tested
3. Read the light transmitance and density values displayed on the screen
