Overview
JND JND MP6 Glossiness Meter is a Portable gloss measurement instrument designed and manufactured with reference to international standards ISO 2813 and Chinese national standards GB/T13891. Its technical parameters comply with ASTM D2457 and ASTM D523 standards, and its performance indicators meet the requirements of the second-level working machine in the national Measurement verification regulation JJG 696-2002. Traceability of Gloss can be obtained from the gloss benchmark of Shanghai Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology (SIMT).
Features
1. High accuracy design, Indication Error +/- 1.0GU, Graduation 0.1GU.
2. Portable design, dimensions 131 * 39 * 81mm, weight only 186g, easy to carry.
3. Long battery life, Operating Time of more than 80 hours on one AA battery.
4. High measurement stability, stability of 0.4GU.
5. Support Chinese operation interface.
6. Gloss value Traceability to ensure accurate and reliable measurement.
Principle
The Glossiness Meter emits a ray of light (60 °) at a specific angle to the measured surface and receives the ray of light reflected on the surface. The photodetector inside the instrument converts the received reflected light signal into an electrical signal. After processing and calculating, the gloss value of the measured surface is displayed on the display screen in gloss units (GU). Its design strictly follows the Optical inspection principle of gloss measurement and international standards.
Applications
The instrument is suitable for quality control and inspection of products requiring measurement of surface gloss, such as coatings, paints, plastics, paper, Pottery and porcelain, metals, wood, printing, etc.
Standards
ISO 2813、GB/T13891、GB9754、GB7706、GB8807、ASTM D2457、ASTM D523、JJG 696-2002
Steps
1. Load a 1.2~ 1.5V AA (No. 5) rechargeable or alkaline battery.
2. Press the power button to turn it on.
3. Smooth fit the instrument measurement window (light spot size 9 * 18mm) on the surface of the sample to be tested.
4. Press the measurement button for measurement.
5. Read the gloss value displayed on the display (0~ 199.9GU).
6. After the measurement is completed, the next measurement or shutdown can be carried out.
Notice
• Make sure the instrument is calibrated before measurement.
• During measurement, the instrument measurement window should be tightly and smoothly fitted to the sample surface to avoid light leakage affecting the measurement results.
• Keep measurement windows and standard boards clean to avoid scratches.
• Use batteries that meet specifications to avoid battery leakage damaging the instrument.
• When the instrument is not in use, it is recommended to remove the battery.
• Avoid using and storing instruments in strong electromagnetic interference, high temperature, high humidity or corrosive environments.
• Traceability of instrument values is required periodically to ensure measurement accuracy.
