Overview
LICHEN LND-1 Portable coated four Viscometer (coated four cups) is a kind of viscosity cup widely used in China. This instrument is designed and manufactured according to the national standard GB/T1723 "Coating viscosity determination method", which is suitable for viscosity measurement of coating products with viscosity below 150 seconds. It is a kind of Portable instrument for conditional measurement of coating viscosity. The viscosity of the liquid is calibrated in seconds by the time required for the liquid to flow out in the standard tube hole after the measured liquid is filled with a specific container. The viscosity of the coating-4 Viscometer measurement is the conditional viscosity, that is, the time for a certain amount of sample to flow out of the hole of the specified aperture at a certain temperature, expressed in seconds.
Features
1. Flow velocity cup is made of pure brass material.
2. Surface chrome plating process, anti-oxidation.
3. The column is made of stainless steel.
Principle
The coated four Viscometer measures the conditional viscosity of a volume of liquid by measuring the time it takes for it to flow out of a cup with a standard aperture. After filling a specific container with the measured liquid, the viscosity of the liquid is calibrated in seconds by the time it takes for it to flow out of the standard tube aperture. The measured sample outflow time t (s) can be converted into the kinematic viscosity value μ (mm ²/s) by the formula: when t < 23s, t = 0.154 μ + 11; when 23s ≤ t ≤ 150s, t = 0.223 μ + 6.0.
Applications
Coating product viscosity measurement
Steps
1. Make sure the instrument is clean and drying.
2. Fill the coating sample to be tested with a viscosity cup to a specific scale (capacity of 100ml).
3. At standard temperature, quickly remove the cup bottom baffle to allow the liquid to flow out of the flow hole (diameter 4mm).
4. Use a stopwatch to record the time required for the liquid to flow from the beginning to the first interruption of the streamer, in seconds (s).
5. According to the measured outflow time t (s), the control formula is converted into a kinematic viscosity value μ (mm ²/s).
Notice
• This instrument is suitable for the measurement of paint products with viscosity below 150 seconds.
• Before measurement, ensure that the sample and instrument are at the specified test temperature.
• After use, the viscosity cup should be cleaned in time to prevent the residue from clogging the flow hole (diameter 4mm).
• When operating, the instrument needs to be placed horizontally to ensure that the outflow process is not disturbed.
• According to the measured outflow time range, choose the correct formula for viscosity conversion.
