Overview

Viscometer model NDJ-5 is a Portable viscosity measurement instrument designed and manufactured according to the national standard GB/T1723. It is suitable for coating products with a viscosity of less than 150 seconds. The conditional viscosity is calibrated by measuring the time (seconds) for a certain amount of sample to flow out in the specified aperture, and can be converted into kinematic viscosity according to the formula.

Principle

The Viscometer uses a conditional viscosity measurement method. After filling a specific container with the liquid under test, the liquid flows out of the standard tube hole under the action of gravity, and the viscosity of the liquid is calibrated in seconds by measuring the time required to flow through the specified capacity (100ml). The measured outflow time t (s) can be converted into a kinematic viscosity value μ (mm ²/s) by a specific formula.

Steps

1. Prepare the paint sample to be tested. 2. Fill the sample in the specific container of the Viscometer. 3. Under standard conditions, the sample is allowed to flow freely from a flow hole with a specified pore size (4mm). 4. Measure and record the time (seconds) required for the sample to flow through the 100ml capacity. 5. According to the outflow time t (s), use the corresponding formula (t < 23s or 23s ≤ t ≤ 150s) to convert into the kinematic viscosity value μ (mm ²/s).
