Overview
The TQC sheen VF9700 minimum film forming temperature (MFFT) tester is used to determine the minimum film forming temperature (MFFT) of emulsion, latex or gluing agents, which is the minimum temperature required for the material to coalesce evenly on the substrate. The instrument helps formulators create products that are properly cured under specific application conditions by precisely controlling the temperature layer, and can be used to define white point/Glass transition temperatures for dispersed materials, synthetic resins, etc., as well as to evaluate the blocking and stacking capabilities of Spreader paper, foil, printing products.
Features
1. Use grinding hard chrome metal platen to ensure uniform deposition of the sample.
Wide temperature range, from -30 ° C to + 250 ° C, can generate any variable temperature layer.
3. Equipped with 10 or 20 evenly distributed temperature transducers for precise temperature control.
4. Integrated digital controller and display for easy operation and monitoring.
5. Provide drying air flow to prevent condensation and ensure test repeatability.
6. Support stacking capacity testing and simulate actual conditions through specified loads.
Principle
The instrument produces a variable temperature layer in the range of -30 to + 250 ° C by heating and chilling down a metal platen, which is kept constant. The sample is applied to the platen using a thin film coating applicator, protected from the environment by a transparent cover plate. A drying air stream is used to prevent condensation, ensuring test repeatability. For stacking capability tests, the specimen is weighed by a specified load to simulate actual stacking conditions.
Applications
Emulsions, LaTeX, gluing agents, dispersions, synthetic resins, enamels, Spreaders, foils, printing products
Standards
DIN ISO 2115、DIN 53366、ASTM D 2354、ASTM D 1465、ISO 2115、ISO/DIS 4622
Steps
1. Apply the sample to the platen using a thin film coating applicator.
2. Protect the sample from environmental conditions with a transparent cover.
3. Start the instrument and set the required temperature layer.
4. Use drying air flow to prevent condensation.
5. Observe the sample film formation and determine the minimum film forming temperature (MFFT).
6. For the stacking capacity test, apply the specified load for weighing.
Notice
• Power frequency is 230V, 50Hz to avoid equipment damage.
• Pay attention to the temperature range during operation to prevent exceeding the limit of -30~ 250 ° C.
• When using drying air flow, ensure that environmental conditions are controlled and test repeatability is guaranteed.
• When applying samples and loads, follow standard operating procedures to ensure safety.
• Regularly calibrate temperature transducers to maintain measurement accuracy.
