Principle
This instrument uses magnetic and eddy current thickness measurement methods. Magnetic method (F-type probe): When the probe is in contact with the cover layer, the probe and the magnetic metal substrate form a closed magnetic circuit. The existence of the nonmagnetic cover layer changes the magnetoresistance. The thickness of the cover layer can be derived by measuring its change. Eddy current method (N-type probe): Using high-frequency alternating current to generate an electromagnetic field in the coil, when the probe is in contact with the cover layer, eddy Current is generated on the metal substrate and has a feedback effect on the probe coil. The thickness of the cover layer can be derived by measuring the size of the feedback effect.
Applications
Manufacturing, metal processing, chemical industry, commodity inspection
Standards
GB/T 4956-1985、GB/T 4957-1985、JB/T 8393-1996、JJG 889-95、JJG818-93
Steps
1. Select the appropriate probe (magnetic method F type or eddy current method N type) according to the measurement substrate.
2. Calibrate the instrument by selecting the appropriate Calibration method (one, two or five specimens calibrated).
3. Measurement mode (continuous measurement CONTINUE or single measurement SINGLE).
4. Select the working mode (direct mode DIRECT or group mode A-B).
5. Smooth and vertical contact of the probe with the coating surface to be tested for measurement.
6. View and record measurement results, the instrument provides average, MAX Maximum, MIN Minimum and other statistics.
7. Data storage or measurement can be transmitted to PC via communication function.
Notice
• Please choose the probe type (F type or N type) correctly according to the substrate material (magnetic or nonmagnetic) and the properties of the cover layer (nonmagnetic or nonconductive) to be tested.
When calibrating and measuring, ensure that the probe is perpendicular to the surface of the test piece or workpiece and in smooth contact.
• When measuring, pay attention to the minimum radius of curvature of the workpiece (convex surface: 1.5mm, concave surface: 9mm) and the minimum measurement area diameter (φ 7mm).
• For workpieces with a substrate thickness of less than 0.5mm, the measurement may not be accurate, please pay attention to the basic critical thickness requirements.
• Ambient Temperature 0~ 40 ℃, relative humidity 20~ 90% RH, please use in the specified environment.
• When using group mode (A-B), please pay attention to the difference between it and direct mode (DIRECT) and choose on demand.
• Do not use in a strong electromagnetic interference environment, so as not to affect the Measurement accuracy.
• The instrument has an automatic shutdown function, but it is recommended to shut down manually when not in use for a long time to save power.
• Keep the probe clean to avoid oil and dust affecting the Measurement accuracy.
• The stored data can be deleted, please confirm whether the original data needs to be retained before making new measurements.
