Overview
The BOD5-870 direct-reading BOD tester is a professional water quality testing equipment from JINGQI brand for the measurement of five-day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of water samples. The instrument adopts a direct-reading design, which can process 8 water samples simultaneously, foster at 20 +/- 1 ° C thermostatic conditions, and directly read the BOD value through the principle of pressure difference detection.

Principle
The water sample or the pretreated water sample is injected into the foster bottle, and the carbon dioxide absorber (NaOH) is placed in the absorption cup of the bottle mouth, and the special biochemistry cultivating box is placed after sealing. After five days of foster under the thermostatic condition of 20 +/-1 ℃, the water sample undergoes biological oxidation reaction under Stir, and the organic matter is converted into nitrogen, carbon and sulfur oxides. The generated carbon dioxide is absorbed by sodiumhydrate, and the oxygen in the upper space of the foster bottle is continuously supplied to the microbial oxygen demand, resulting in a pressure difference. The BOD value of the water sample during the specified period is calculated by detecting the height of Hg in the glass tube.

Steps
1. Inject the water sample or pretreated water sample into the foster bottle
