Overview
The QTZ type film Conical Mandrel Bending Tester is a SHIBO brand product, suitable for the determination of Paints, varnishes coatings (including single layer and composite coating systems) under standard conditions, when bending around conical mandrel, anti-cracking or disbonding performance from metal baseplate, can also measure the elongation of the coating.
Features
1. Pure mechanical structure, easy to operate.
2. The coating anti-cracking, disbonding performance and elongation can be measured.
3. Suitable for a variety of coating systems.
Principle
The instrument is purely mechanical and mainly consists of a conical mandrel, a tie rod, a joystick and a clamping test plate device. The principle is to insert the test plate between the tie rod and the conical mandrel, hold the lever after clamping with a splint, turn the test plate from front to back to bend the test plate around the conical mandrel, and measure its disbonding performance according to the crack position of the coating on the test plate.
Applications
Paints, varnishes coating test
Standards
ISO6860—1984(E)、ASTMD522—60(1979)、BS3900;PartE11:1985、GB/T11185
Steps
1. Place the instrument flat or fixed on the instrument platform at 23 +/- 2 ° C and relative temperature (50 +/- 5) %.
2. According to the provisions of GB3186-82 for sampling, and GB1727-79 for the preparatory test plate.
3. Use polished steel plate, polished tinplate or soft Aluminum Panel as the test plate, the size is 100mm * 180mm, and the Film thickness does not exceed 0.8mm.
4. Press GB1727-79 to prepare three test plates, and the brush marks are parallel to the short sides when brushing.
After drying the plate, leave it at 23 +/- 2 ° C and 50 +/- 5% relative temperature for at least 16 h.
6. Determination of film Film thickness according to GB1764-79.
7. Insert the test plate between the tie rod and the conical mandrel, clamp it with a splint, and bend the test plate from front to back with the lever in hand.
Notice
• Test environment to be controlled at 23 +/- 2 ° C and relative temperature (50 +/- 5) %.
• The test plate should be flat, without deformation, bulge or crazing.
• The maximum Film thickness of the test plate is 0.8mm, and the long side of the Aluminum Panel needs to be parallel to the longitudinal direction of the metal rolling process.
• Conduct bending test as soon as possible after drying to avoid delay.
• Make sure to place the instrument firmly when operating.
