Overview
Dowry type Wear resistance Tester (model: DRM-II) is suitable for Abrasion Resistance test of natural granite, natural marble, limestone, sandstone, slate and Miscellaneous building decoration materials (such as artificial stone, microcrystalline Glass, etc.). The instrument adopts three asynchronous motors, low running noise, equipped with 4 sets of working heads, and has the characteristics of beautiful appearance and stable operation.
Features
1. Adopt three asynchronous motors for low noise.
2. Equipped with four sets of working heads, multiple specimen tests can be performed simultaneously.
3. Abrasive Flow rate continuously adjustable, precise control.
4. Wide speed control range (0-9999rpm) to meet different testing requirements.
5. Beautiful appearance and stable operation.
Principle
Rotation speed (45 +/- 1rpm) swirl/spin while applying a specified load (e.g. 2000 +/- 50g or 1250 +/- 50g) to the specimen placed on the grinding disc. The abrasive process is simulated by continuously supplying abrasive between the contact surface of the grinding disc and the specimen. The wear resistance of the material is evaluated by measuring the mass loss or volume loss of the specimen at a certain number of revolutions.
Applications
Natural granite, natural marble, limestone, sandstone, slate, artificial stone, microcrystalline Glass and other building decoration materials abrasion resistance testing
Standards
GB/T19766-2005 "Natural Marble Building Slabs" Appendix A, GBT9966.4-2001 Test Methods for Natural Finishes Stone Part 4: Abrasion Resistance Test Method, ASTMC503-1997 Natural Finishes Stone Test Method. Abrasion Resistance Test Method, American Standard ASTMC241-90
Steps
Prepare the specimen according to the standard requirements (square 50 × 50 +/- 0.5mm or round 25 +/- 0.5mm).
2. Install the specimen at the four working head positions of the testing machine.
3. Set the load on the sample according to the test requirements (2000 +/- 50g or 1250 +/- 50g).
4. Set the predetermined number of revolutions of the grinding disc.
5. Adjust and turn on the abrasive Flow rate to the appropriate state.
6. Start the machine, and the grinding disc starts swirling/spinning for wear resistance test.
7. After reaching the predetermined number of revolutions, the machine automatically stops.
8. Remove the sample, measure and record its mass or volume loss, and calculate the wear resistance.
Notice
• Specimen specifications must strictly meet requirements (square 50 × 50 +/- 0.5mm, thickness 15-55mm; or round 25 +/- 0.5mm, height 25-60mm).
• The load on the sample should be precisely controlled within the specified range (e.g. 2000 +/- 50g or 1250 +/- 50g).
• Rotation speed should be calibrated and maintained at 45 +/- 1rpm.
• Abrasive Flow rate should be continuously adjustable and ensure a stable supply during the test.
• Rated power of the device is 0.37KW, 380V, 50Hz power supply is required.
• Before operation, ensure that the equipment is well grounded and comply with electrical safety regulations.
• Regularly check the working Hardness of the grinding disc (should be > HB500) to ensure that it meets the test requirements.
