Overview
The TQC Sheen SP4500 Automatic Cupping Tester is a device for performing Erichsen/Dent testing on coated steel plates to evaluate the resistance of paints, varnishes or related products to cracking and peeling when metal substrates are deformed due to creep. This test can be used as a pass/fail test to determine the minimum depth of failure coating by specifying a depth or gradually increasing the creep.
Features
1. Constant deformation: micro-step control motor is adopted, the indentation speed is stable and adjustable between 0.1-0 mm/s, the stride is accurate to 0.01mm, and the pause/resume function is supported.
2. Unique interface: equipped with Triple I ® navigation tools, intelligent lighting interface guides operation through bright red buttons, and the full-color display enhances intuitiveness.
3. Multiple settings: Custom settings are password protected, and statistical information is displayed after testing; Specimen lighting system can adjust intensity and Color to adapt to high Gloss, no Gloss or colored samples.
4. Connection function: Support TQC Sheen-Bus connection (excluding LinQ system).
5. High Accuracy: Speed accuracy +/- 1%, stroke length accuracy +/- 0.01mm or 0.2%.
6. Safety: Equipped with a panic button and integrated audible alarm.
Principle
The automatic cupping tester is driven by a micro-step motor to apply Ceiling to the coated steel plate in a 0.01mm stride to achieve uninterrupted deformation at a constant rate (0.1-0 mm/s). During the test, the equipment monitors the cracking or peeling of the coating under the action of Ceiling to evaluate its resistance.
Applications
Coating steel plate testing, paints evaluation, varnishes testing, Qualicoat and QIB accredited laboratories
Standards
DIN-EN 13523-6、EN-ISO 1520、DIN 53156、DIN 53232、BS 3900-E4、NBN T22-104、NFT 30019
Steps
1. Start the device and use the Triple I ® navigation tool to select the test mode.
2. Set the indentation speed, depth and other parameters.
3. Place the test panel (width ≤ 105mm).
4. Start the test, and the device automatically applies the Caller.
5. Monitor coating failure and record results.
6. Review the statistics after the test is completed.
Notice
• Film thickness of test panel: steel ≤ 0.8mm, aluminum ≤ 1.2mm.
• Sinking speed: steel panel up to 0.6mm/s, aluminum panel up to 0.7mm/s.
• Ensure that the deformation rate is stable between 0.1-0 mm/s.
• Use the panic button to respond to emergencies.
• Custom settings require password protection.
• Perform tests correctly with reference to appropriate standards.
