Overview
The PN-GM glossmeter is an instrument designed and developed according to the national standard GB/T 8941 for detecting the specular gloss of paper and Cardboard. It can measure 20 °, 60 °, 75 ° Glossiness and is widely used in papermaking, Encasement, printing, ceramics, paints, coatings and other industries to determine the Glossiness of the surface of the object.
Features
1. The incidence reflection angle: 75 °, 20 °, 60 ° optional, using D65 illumination body and CIE bright visual function, the luminosity linearity is 0.3% full scale.
2. Equipped with LCD display.
3. Built-in thermal printer, which can directly print test results.
4. Using a polished black Glass plate as the Glossiness standard, the Glossiness of the black Glass material with a refractive index of 1.567 is defined as 100 Glossiness units.
Principle
The instrument measures the Glossiness value of the surface of the object by measuring the ratio of the luminous flux reflected by the ray of light from the mirror surface of the measured object at a specific angle (20 °, 60 ° or 75 °) to the luminous flux reflected by the mirror surface of the standard plate under the same conditions. It uses a polished black Glass plate with a refractive index of 1.567 as a standard, and its Glossiness is defined as 100 Glossiness units.
Applications
Papermaking, Encasement, printing, ceramics, paints, coatings
Standards
GB/T 8941、ISO2813
Steps
1. Select the appropriate Measurement Angles (20 °, 60 ° or 75 °) according to the Sample type (such as Spreader Paper, High Gloss Surface, Metal Composite Paper, etc.).
2. Place the instrument on a flat and stable table to ensure that the working environment meets the requirements (temperature 20 +/- 10 ° C, relative humidity < 85%).
3. Power on the instrument and calibrate as necessary (using standard Black Glass).
4. Place the sample to be tested (recommended size not less than 50 * 50mm) under the measurement port to ensure that the tested surface is flat and clean.
5. Start the measurement through the Instrument Operating interface.
6. After the measurement is completed, the Glossiness value will be displayed on the LCD screen.
7. For recording, the test results can be printed directly through the built-in thermal printer.
Notice
* 20 °, 60 ° or 75 ° Measurement Angles should be correctly selected according to the Sample type before measurement.
* Ensure that the Ambient Temperature is 20 +/- 10 ° C and the relative humidity is below 85%.
The surface of the tested sample should be flat and clean, and the recommended size should not be less than 50 * 50mm.
The instrument should be placed on a stable working table to avoid vibration.
Periodically calibrated with standard Black Glass to ensure measurement accuracy.
* Instrument Indication Error is +/- 1GU, Repeatability is 0.5GU, please pay attention to the accuracy range when using.
* Do not use in places beyond the specified environmental conditions or where corrosion gases are present.
* The instrument weight is about 10kg, please pay attention to safety when moving.
