Overview
The American RDS Double Wire-wound Applicator rod (Model: 5 #3/8) is a high-quality laboratory Spreader tool developed and produced by RDS company with more than 80 years of technical experience. Known for film accuracy up to 0.1 micron and good materials, this product is designed to handle higher viscosity Coatings, which reduces clogging and eliminates stitches. It uses the double wire-wound process, which helps Coatings to flow and soak better by wrapping smaller lines around a larger tip.
Features
1. The brand has a long history: it originated from the American RDS company with more than 80 years of technical experience, and has a good reputation in the industry.
2. High film accuracy: film accuracy up to 0.1 micron.
3. Special process design: using double wire-wound process, the groove width is shallow, which is conducive to the flow of high viscosity coatings and reduces clogging and stitching.
4. Durability: more durable than open bar.
5. Reliable material: The main body is made of stainless steel.
6. Extensive optional specifications: Provide a variety of experimental bars with different process specifications, up to 12 feet in length, and can be customized.
Principle
The Working Principle of the double wire-wound Applicator rod is to create specific wide shallow grooves by wrapping a smaller stainless steel wire around the tip of a larger stainless steel rod. When performing the Spreader operation, this structure allows the higher viscosity Coating to flow better within the groove, reducing clogging. At the same time, the smaller tip wire produces less discontinuity in the Coating flow, allowing the Coating to be more completely soaked and spread, ultimately forming a uniform, precise wet-film on the substrate.
Applications
Suitable for a variety of industries that require High Accuracy film experiments, to meet a variety of experimental film needs
Steps
1. Applicator rod and substrate clean.
2. Coating an appropriate amount at the starting end of the substrate.
3. Hold both ends of the Applicator rod and pull the Applicator rod from the starting end of the coating to the other end at a steady and constant speed and pressure.
4. After completing the Spreader, clean the Applicator rod in time.
Notice
* Please confirm Applicator rod model matches the required wet film thickness (11.4μm) before use.
* Maintain uniform speed and pressure stability during operation to ensure uniform film.
* Applicator rod should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent immediately after Spreader is completed to prevent Coating from drying up and clogging the groove.
Please keep it safe and avoid bumping to protect the delicate wire-wound structure.
