Overview
RDS 8 #3/8\ "Double wire-wound Applicator rod is a professional experimental Spreader tool with a wet film thickness of 18.3 microns. It is made of wear-resistant stainless steel, with a rod diameter of 9.52mm and an effective application width of 300mm. The product is developed and produced by RDS company in the United States with more than 80 years of technical experience. It is renowned in the industry for its film accuracy of up to 0.1 microns and excellent materials.

Principle
The Applicator rod forms specific wide and shallow grooves by wrapping a smaller wire around the tip of a larger rod body. When scraped on the substrate, the grooves hold and transfer the Coating, precisely controlling the thickness of the wet-film to 18.3 microns. Its dual wire-wound design optimizes Coating flow, especially for high viscosity systems, effectively reducing clogging and ensuring film uniformity.

Steps
1. Place the Coating on the front end of the substrate to be Spreader.
2. Hold both ends of the Applicator rod and scrape the Applicator rod across the surface of the Coating and substrate at a stable and uniform speed and pressure.
3. Complete a single Spreader to form a wet-film of the specified thickness.
Notice
• Applicator rod clean, drying and no residue in the groove before use.
• Keep the force and speed uniform when scraping to obtain a flat film.
• After use, it should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent in time to maintain accuracy and prolong service life.
• Please select the appropriate Applicator rod model according to the Coating viscosity. The double wire-wound design is more suitable for high viscosity Coatings.
• Keep it properly when storing to avoid bumping and damaging the precision wire-wound structure.
