Overview
The RDS 9 #3/8 "double wire-wound Applicator rod is a professional Spreader tool produced by RDS Corporation in the United States. The brand has more than 80 years of technical experience, and its products are known for good materials and High Accuracy, with a film accuracy of up to 0.1 microns. This model Applicator rod features a double wire-wound design, suitable for higher viscosity Coatings, which can reduce clogging and eliminate stitches. The preparation wet film thickness is 20.6 microns.
Features
1. The brand has a long history: American RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in the development and production of wire-wound drawdown bars.
2. High Accuracy Spreader: film accuracy up to 0.1 micron, enjoy a good reputation in the industry.
3. Special structure design: double wire-wound structure is adopted, and a wide and shallow groove is formed through a large and a small wire-wound, which is conducive to the flow of high viscosity coatings and reduces blockage and stitches.
4. Durable material: The rod body is made of wear-resistant stainless steel, which is sturdy and durable.
5. Specifications clear: wet film thickness 20.6μm, effective application width 300mm, rod diameter 9.52mm, wire diameter 0.23mm.
6. Optional accessories are rich: experimental bars with a variety of process specifications can be provided, and customization is accepted.
Principle
The Working Principle of the double wire-wound Applicator rod is based on its special winding structure. It forms a wide and shallow groove on the surface of the rod body by wrapping a thinner wire on a thicker main wire. This design allows the high-viscosity Coating to flow better in the groove and reduce clogging. At the same time, the thinner top wire produces less discontinuity during the Coating flow, which helps the Coating to be more completely soaked and spread, resulting in the preparation of a uniform thickness and non-marking wet-film.
Applications
Experimental film, Coatings R & D, inks testing, Adhesive Spreader
Steps
1. Ensure that the surface of the substrate to be Spreader is clean and flat.
2. Pour an appropriate amount of Coating onto one end of the substrate.
3. Hold both ends of the Applicator rod and contact the grooved side of the rod with Coating.
4. At a uniform speed and appropriate pressure, smoothly pull the Applicator rod to the other end.
5. After Spreader is completed, clean Applicator rod with suitable solvent and store it properly.
Notice
• Please select the appropriate bar type according to the Coating viscosity before use.
• Maintain uniform speed and smooth pulling during operation to ensure uniform film thickness.
• Wash thoroughly immediately after use to prevent Coatings from drying up and clogging grooves.
• Please use a suitable solvent when cleaning to avoid scratching with hard objects, so as not to damage the wire winding.
Store in a drying place to avoid bumping to maintain accuracy.
