Overview
The RDS 20 #3/8 "double wire-wound Applicator rod is a professional experimental Spreader tool developed and produced by the American RDS company with more than 80 years of technical experience. The product is made of wear-resistant stainless steel, with a rod diameter of 9.5mm, an effective application width of 300mm, and a prepative wet film thickness of 45.7 microns. The double wire-wound design is especially suitable for high viscosity Coatings to reduce clogging and eliminate stitches, providing film accuracy of up to 0.1 microns. It is a trusted coating rod brand in the industry for internal ads.
Features
1. The brand has a long history: it originated from the American RDS company with more than 80 years of technical experience, and the quality is guaranteed.
2. High Accuracy film: film accuracy up to 0.1 micron to ensure the accuracy and conformity of experimental results.
3. Special structural design: using double wire-wound process, wide and shallow groove design is conducive to high viscosity Coating flow, reducing clogging and stitching.
4. High-quality and durable material: made of wear-resistant stainless steel, which is durable and has a long service life.
5. Variety of specifications: Provide a variety of experimental bars with different process specifications, up to 12 feet in length, and can be customized.
Principle
The double wide-wound Applicator rod forms a wide and shallow groove by wrapping a finer wire around the tip of a larger rod body. This structural design allows the high-viscosity Coating to flow better within the groove and reduce clogging. At the same time, the smaller tip wire produces less discontinuity during the Coating flow process, which helps the Coating to more completely penetrate and spread, resulting in a precise and uniform thickness wet-film coating on the substrate.
Applications
Suitable for experimental and research fields that require High Accuracy film, Coatings and inks industry performance testing, gluing agent coating prepatives, and New material development and other application scenarios that have strict requirements on the Spreader process.
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Ensure that the surface of the substrate to be Spreader is clean and flat.
2. Place an appropriate amount of Coating to be tested on the starting end of the substrate.
3. Hold the handle at both ends of the Applicator rod, contact the wire-wound part with the starting end of the substrate and maintain a certain angle.
4. Spreader the Applicator rod smoothly across the Coating area at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure.
5. Applicator rod should be cleaned with suitable solvent after use to keep the wire-wound groove unobstructed.
Notice
• Please select the appropriate bar type according to the Coating viscosity before use.
• Maintain uniform speed and stability during operation to ensure uniform film thickness.
• It should be cleaned thoroughly immediately after use to prevent the coating from drying up and blocking the groove.
• It is recommended to use a soft cloth and a suitable solvent when cleaning, and avoid using hard objects to scratch the wire-wound part.
Store in a drying environment to avoid bumping to maintain wide-wound accuracy.
