Overview
The RDS 25 #3/8 "double wire-wound Applicator rod is a professional experimental Spreader tool developed and produced by RDS company in the United States with more than 80 years of technical experience. The product is made of wear-resistant stainless steel, with a rod diameter of 9.5mm and an effective application width of 300mm. Its double wire-wound design can prepare wet film thickness of 57.2 microns, and enjoys a good reputation in the industry with a film accuracy of up to 0.1 microns.
Features
1. The brand has a long history: it originated from the American RDS company with more than 80 years of technical experience and is a well-known brand in the industry.
2. High film accuracy: film accuracy up to 0.1 micron to ensure the accuracy and conformity of experimental results.
3. Special structural design: using double wire-wound structure, for high viscosity coatings, it can reduce groove blockage and eliminate stitches, making the coating flow smoother and more completely soaked.
4. Durable material: made of wear-resistant stainless steel, more durable than open bar.
Specifications are clear: wet film thickness 57.2μm, rod diameter 9.52mm, application width 300mm, clear parameters.
6. Optional and customized: Provide a variety of specifications bar, and accept customized services.
Principle
The working principle of the double wire-wound Applicator rod is to control the wet film thickness by wrapping the steel wire on the rod body to form a groove of a specific depth. Its unique feature is the use of a double wire-wound design, that is, a thinner steel wire is wrapped on a thicker base line to form a wide and shallow groove. This structure is conducive to the flow of high viscosity Coatings and reduces clogging; at the same time, the thinner tip steel wire produces less discontinuity in the Coating flow, allowing the Coatings to be more completely soaked and levelled, resulting in the preparation of a precise and uniform thickness wet-film.
Applications
Suitable for a variety of industries that require High Accuracy film experiments, to meet a variety of experimental film needs

Steps
1. According to the wet film thickness required for the experiment, select the appropriate bar type (e.g. 25 #corresponds to 57.2μm).
2. Ensure that the bar and the surface of the substrate to be Spreader are clean.
3. Coating an appropriate amount on one end of the substrate.
4. Holding both ends of the bar, scrape the bar from the Coating to the other end at constant speed and pressure.
5. After the scratch coating is completed, a wet-film of the specified thickness can be obtained.
Notice
• Double wire-wound drawdown bars are more expensive than open bars, but more durable, please choose according to Frequency of use and budget.
• This design is especially suitable for high viscosity coatings to reduce clogging and stitch problems.
• Clean the bar before and after use to keep the groove unobstructed and film accuracy.
• Maintain uniform speed and pressure stability during operation to ensure uniform film thickness.
• You can consult the supplier to customize longer or different specifications of bars according to specific needs.
