Overview
The RDS 26 #3/8 "double wire-wound Applicator rod is a professional experimental Spreader tool produced by RDS Corporation in the United States with more than 80 years of technical experience. This model uses the double wire-wound process to prepare wet film coatings with a thickness of 59.4 microns. The rod body is made of wear-resistant stainless steel, with a diameter of 9.5mm and an effective application width of 300mm.
Features
The brand has a long history and more than 80 years of technical experience, and has a good reputation in the industry.
2. High film accuracy, up to 0.1 micron.
3. Double wire-wound design is adopted, which can effectively reduce clogging and eliminate stitches for high viscosity coatings.
4. The groove width is shallow, which is conducive to the flow of heavy coatings.
5. The smaller top line design makes the coating more completely soaked.
6. More durable than open bar.
7. The material is wear-resistant stainless steel, which is sturdy and reliable.
8. A variety of specifications are available and customization is acceptable.
Principle
The double wire-wound Applicator rod forms a shallow and wide groove by wrapping a smaller wire around the tip of a larger rod. This structural design allows high-viscosity or heavy coatings to flow through better. The smaller tip wire creates less discontinuity in the Coating flow, allowing the Coating to more fully penetrate and spread, ultimately forming a uniform, precise thickness wet-film on the substrate.
Applications
Suitable for a variety of industries that require High Accuracy film experiments, to meet a variety of experimental film needs
Steps
1. Prepare Coatings and Substrates to be Tested.
2. Coating an appropriate amount on one end of the substrate.
3. Hold both ends of the Applicator rod and place the grooved part of the rod body smoothly in front of the Coating.
4. At a uniform speed and appropriate pressure, pull the Applicator rod to the other end to form a uniform wet-film through the groove.
5. After completing the Spreader, clean the Applicator rod in time.
Notice
* Applicator rod should be clean and drying without residue before use.
* Maintain uniform speed and stable pressure during operation to ensure uniform film thickness.
* After use, it should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent immediately to prevent Coating from drying up and blocking the groove.
Please keep it safe to avoid damage to the wire winding structure.
* This product is an experimental tool, and the specific Spreader effect may vary depending on the nature of the Coating, the substrate, the environment and other factors.
