Overview
The RDS 30 #3/8 "double wire-wound Applicator rod is a precision tool for laboratory preparatory wet-film designed to handle higher viscosity coatings. The Applicator rod is made of wear-resistant stainless steel with a wet-film preparatory thickness of 68.6 μm and an effective application width of 300 mm. It has a good reputation in the industry for its High Accuracy and Durability.
Features
1. Adopt double wire-wound design, suitable for high viscosity Coating, can reduce clogging and eliminate stitches.
2. The groove is wide and shallow, which is conducive to the flow of heavy Coatings. The smaller top line makes the Coatings more completely soaked.
3. Made of wear-resistant stainless steel, it is sturdy and durable.
4. High film accuracy, up to 0.1 micron level.
5. Provide a variety of specifications to choose from, and can accept customization.
Principle
The Applicator rod forms a precise groove by wrapping a stainless steel wire of a specific diameter on its rod body. When the rod body rolls or scrapes on the substrate, the Coating contained in the groove is transferred to the substrate surface by Basis Weight to form a wet-film of a set thickness. The double wire-wound design uses two wire-wounds, one large and one small, to form a wide and shallow groove structure that is more conducive to the flow and spread of high viscosity Coating, resulting in a uniform film.
Applications
Coating R & D and testing, inks, gluing agents, cosmetics, electronic materials and other laboratory fields that require precision films.
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Coating to be tested is placed at one end of the substrate.
2. Applicator rod is placed behind the Coating to ensure good contact with the substrate.
3. Applicator rod is pulled or rolled forward at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure to make Coating film formation.
4. After completing the Spreader, clean the Applicator rod in time.
Notice
* Applicator rod and substrate surface clean and drying before use.
* It is necessary to maintain uniform force and stable speed during operation to obtain a film of uniform thickness.
* Applicator rod should be thoroughly cleaned with suitable solvent immediately after use to prevent Coating from drying up and clogging the groove.
* Please keep it properly to avoid bumping and damaging the precision-wound steel wire.
* Select the appropriate Applicator rod model according to the Coating viscosity.
