The RDS 14 #3/8 "Open Applicator rod is a professional wire-wound drawdown bar imported from the United States. Principle
The open bar forms a series of wide, shallow grooves on the rod body through spaced, surrounding wires. When Spreader, these grooves hold and Measurement Coatings. When the bar is pulled, excess Coatings are scraped off, leaving a wet-film of a specific thickness. Its open design is particularly conducive to the smooth flow of high-viscosity Coatings, avoiding the clogging problems that traditional tight wire-wounds can cause, and reducing the linear marks produced after Spreader.
Applications

Steps
1. Place the Coating to be tested on a flat end of the substrate.
2. Applicator rod is placed behind the coating to ensure that the rod body is in close contact with the substrate.
3. Pull the Applicator rod forward at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure to make the Coating film formation.
4. Lift the Applicator rod and check whether the formed wet-film is uniform and flat.
Notice
• Before use, make sure Applicator rod is clean, drying and free of previous residues.
• Spreaders need to maintain constant speed and constant pressure to ensure uniform film thickness.
• This product is an open bar. Although it is suitable for high viscosity Coatings, its durability may be lower than that of double winding rods. Please pay attention to protecting the wire-wound part when using it.
• After use, it should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent in time and kept properly.
