Overview
The RDS 7 #3/8 "open applicator rod is a professional Spreader tool with an open wire-wound process with a preparatory wet film thickness of 16.0μm. The effective application width of the rod is 30cm, the rod body diameter is 9.52mm, the total length is 400mm, and it is made of stainless steel with a wire diameter of 0.18mm. As an American professional coating rod manufacturer with more than 80 years of history, RDS is known for its high quality products, which are suitable for a variety of special film experimental scenarios.
Features
1. Adopt open wire-wound process, suitable for higher viscosity coatings.
2. Design helps to reduce clogging and eliminate stitches, improve Coating flowability.
3. Wide and shallow groove design makes heavy coatings flow more smoothly.
4. Smaller wire diameters produce smaller interruptions in the Coating flow, resulting in more complete Coating penetration.
5. Compared with the double wire-wound coating rod, it has higher cost performance.
Principle
The open bar forms a series of wide and shallow grooves on the surface of the rod body through spaced surrounding wires. When Spreader, these grooves hold and transfer the Coating. Due to the open groove structure, it can effectively reduce the clogging problem of high viscosity Coatings and eliminate the linear marks that may be generated after Spreader. The smaller wire diameter produces less discontinuity, which helps the Coating to be more completely soaked and spread, resulting in a uniform wet-film coating.
Applications
Special experimental film scenes
Notice
• Although open bars are suitable for high viscosity coatings and reduce clogging, they may not be as durable as double wire-wound coating rods.
