Overview
The YD-3000A Leeb hardness tester is a Portable Hardness testing instrument produced by KODIN, which is mainly used for fast and High Accuracy Hardness measurement of various metal materials. It is especially suitable for installed parts, large workpieces, mold cavities and other occasions that are difficult to test with traditional hardness gauges, and can meet the mass assurance activities that require formal recording of test results.
Features
1. According to the Richter Hardness Measurement principle, a variety of metal materials can be tested for High Accuracy.
2. Support "forged steel (Steel) " material, and the HB value can be directly read when testing with D/DC type Impact device, without manual table checking.
3. It is convenient to switch to all commonly used Hardness standards (HL, HB, HRB, HRC, HRA, HV, HS), and convert each Hardness measurement value in parallel.
4. Using large screen 128 × 64 graphic point matrix LCD, rich information, intuitive, full Chinese menu operation, simple and convenient.
5. With automatic backlight display function, it is convenient to use in an environment with poor ray of light.
6. Equipped with RS232 communication interface, it can easily and quickly exchange data with PC and set parameters.
7. One main unit can be equipped with 7 different impact devices, automatically identifying the type of impact device, and no need to re-calibrate when replacing.
8. It can store up to 600 sets of Hardness measurement data, each set of data contains single Measured value, average value, date, Impact direction, material, Hardness system and other information.
9. The upper and lower limits of Hardness value can be preset, and the automatic alarm beyond the range is convenient for batch testing.
10. Powered by 2 AA (No. 5) ordinary alkaline batteries, it can work continuously for not less than 150 hours, with power-saving functions such as automatic sleep and automatic shutdown, and the LCD screen has a remaining power indication.
11. Adjustment of indication software.
12. Can be equipped with powerful microcomputer software to achieve data transmission, storage management, statistical analysis, printing reports, and other functions.
Principle
The hardness gauge works according to the Richter Hardness Measurement principle. An Impact is released to the surface of the material to be tested through the built-in Impact device, and the ratio of the rebound speed of the Impact to the Impact speed at a distance of 1mm from the surface of the specimen is measured. This ratio is defined as the Richter Hardness value. The internal processor of the instrument calculates the Hardness value according to this principle and can automatically convert it to the common Miscellaneous Hardness standard.
Applications
Installed machinery or permanent assembly parts, mold cavities, heavy workpieces, Pressure Vessels, turbo-generator sets and their equipment failure analysis, Test space is very small workpieces, bearings and other parts, requiring formal original records of test results, metal material warehouse material distinction, large workpieces in a wide range of rapid inspection of multiple measurement parts
Standards

Steps
1. Select the appropriate Impact device according to the tested material and install it on the main engine.
2. When turned on, the instrument automatically recognizes the type of Impact device.
3. Set the material type, Hardness standard, measurement direction and other parameters in the menu.
4. Impact device is pressed vertically on the surface of the workpiece to be tested, press the release button for measurement.
5. Read the measurement results displayed on the LCD screen.
6. The stored data can be transferred to a computer through the RS232 interface for further analysis and management.
Notice
• Before measurement, please select and set the material code correctly according to the material being tested.
• Ensure that the Impact device is perpendicular to the surface under test and compressed to obtain an accurate reading.
• For the curved sample, the radius of curvature should not be less than 30mm.
• The surface of the workpiece to be tested should be as smooth and clean as possible, free of oil stains, oxidation skin, etc.
• The workpiece to be tested should have sufficient mass, thickness and rigidity to ensure Measurement accuracy.
• Impact devices should avoid violent vibrations and collisions during measurement.
• When the battery level indicator icon prompts that the battery is low, the battery should be replaced with a new one in time.
• When the instrument is not in use for a long time, please remove the battery.
• When replacing the Impact device, make sure the instrument is turned off.
Measurement range of the instrument or does not meet the test conditions of the material, the measurement results may be inaccurate.
