Overview
The IPRE C Impact device is a professional Hardness measurement equipment with an Impact energy of 2.7mJ, an Impact body mass of 3.0g, a tungsten carbide ball head, a diameter of 3mm, and Hardness 1600HV. The device has a diameter of 20mm, a length of 141mm, and a mass of 75g. It is suitable for testing the hardness of various materials.
Features
1. Impact Energy 2.7mJ, Impact Mass 3.0g, Ensure Measurement Stability
2. The ball head is made of tungsten carbide material, Hardness up to 1600HV, Abrasion Resistance
3. Impact device is lightweight, with a mass of only 75g, easy to carry and operate
4. Maximum Hardness Measurement range up to 1000HV, covering a wide range of application requirements
5. Indication Error +/- 12HLC, indication Repeatability 12HLC, reliable accuracy
Principle
The impact device impacts the surface of the specimen with 2.7 mJ of energy by releasing the impact body, and the ball head generates a Cedar on the specimen, and calculates the Hardness value according to the Cedar diameter or depth. For example, the Cedar diameter is 0.38mm and the depth is 12μm at Hardness 300HV, and the Cedar diameter is 0.32mm and the depth is 8μm at Hardness 600HV. The calibration and measurement are achieved by comparing standard Hardness blocks (e.g. 822 +/- 30HLC).
Applications
Metal hardness of materials testing, industrial quality control, material research
Standards
Richter Hardness Standard
Steps
Prepare the specimen to ensure that the surface roughness does not exceed 0.4um and the weight and thickness meet the requirements (e.g. minimum weight > 1.5kg or 0.02-0 kg)
2. Stable support specimen, for weight 0.5-1 kg specimen need to be fixed
3. Align the Impact device vertically on the specimen surface to ensure tight coupling
4. Trigger Impact, Record Hardness indication
5. Repeatability measurements to verify Repeatability, calibrated using standard Hardness blocks
Notice
The average surface asperity of the specimen shall not exceed 0.4um to avoid measurement errors
• The minimum weight of the specimen needs to be adjusted according to the range: > 1.5kg direct measurement, 0.5-1 kg needs stable support, 0.02-0 kg needs special treatment
• The minimum thickness of the specimen is 1mm, and the minimum thickness of the hardened layer is 0.2mm to ensure the validity of the measurement
• Avoid using on superhard materials (over 1000HV) to prevent equipment damage
• Regularly calibrate with standard Hardness blocks (e.g. 822 +/- 30HLC) to ensure accurate indications
• Keep the Impact device vertical during operation to prevent errors caused by tilt
