Overview
The D + 15 Impact unit is a professional hardness testing device from the IPRE brand, with 11mJ Impact energy and 1600HV ball head Hardness, suitable for Hardness measurement of a variety of metal materials. Compact design, the Impact unit is 162mm in length and 80g in mass, providing accurate Hardness indication.
Features
Impact energy of 11mJ ensures efficient test performance.
2. Hardness of ball head up to 1600HV, using tungsten carbide material, Abrasion Resistance.
3. Impact device diameter 20mm, length 162mm, mass 80g, easy to handle.
4. Measurement range is wide, the maximum Hardness can reach 940HV.
Indication Error is +/- 12 HLD + 15 and Repeatability is 12 HLD + 15 to ensure test accuracy.
Principle
The impact device impacts the surface of the specimen with an energy of 11mJ through the impact body, and the ball head generates a Cedar on the specimen, and calculates the Hardness value according to the Cedar diameter or depth. The impact body mass is 7.8g and the ball head diameter is 3mm, ensuring reliable measurement results under standard conditions.
Applications
Metal hardness of materials testing, industrial quality control, material research and development
Standards
Standard Richter Hardness Block Hardness: 766 +/- 30HLD + 15, 544 +/- 40HLD + 15
Steps
Ensure that the average surface asperity of the specimen does not exceed 1.6 μm.
2. Select the support method according to the weight of the specimen: > 5kg direct support, 2-5kg stable support, 0.05-2 kg minimum weight treatment.
3. For thin specimens, the minimum thickness is 5mm and the minimum thickness of hardened layer is 0.8mm.
4. Use the Impact device for impact testing and record Hardness values.
5. Compare the standard Hardness block to calibrate to ensure accurate indication.
Notice
• Specimen surface roughness should be controlled within 1.6μm to avoid measurement errors.
• When the weight of the specimen is less than 2kg, special attention should be paid to the stable support to prevent the test from being unstable.
• For thin specimens, ensure that the thickness is not less than 5mm and the thickness of the hardened layer is not less than 0.8mm.
• Regularly use the standard Hardness block calibrating device to keep the Indication Error within the +/- 12 HLD + 15 range.
• Avoid excessive impact during operation to extend the life of the ball head and device.
