Overview
ZHIBANG ZB-COBB125A Cobb Absorption Meter is a special instrument for measuring the surface water absorption capacity (Cobb value) of paper and Cardboard by the Cobb method. It is suitable for measuring the surface Water Absorbency of sizing paper and Cardboard, but it is not suitable for base paper and embossed paper with a quantification of less than 50g/m ², a low sizing degree or more pinholing, nor is it suitable for unsizing paper and Cardboard and accurately evaluating the writing performance of paper and Cardboard.
Features

Principle
The instrument works according to the principle of Cobb method. After contacting the sample with water for a specified time, the mass increase per unit area is measured to calculate the surface water absorption value (Cobb value) of paper or Cardboard.

Steps
1. Prepare samples that meet the requirements.
2. Place the sample in the instrument testing area.
Select the required test time (e.g. 30s, 60s, 120s, or 360s).
4. Perform a flip operation to bring the sample into contact with water, and the instrument starts automatically timing at the same time.
5. After reaching the set time, the instrument issues a reminder to remove the remaining water on the surface of the sample.
6. Weigh the mass of the sample after water absorption and calculate the Cobb value.

* This instrument is not suitable for paper weighing less than 50g/m ².
* This instrument is not suitable for base paper and embossed paper with low sizing or more pinholing.
* This instrument is not suitable for unglued paper and Cardboard.
* This instrument is not suitable for accurately evaluating the writing performance of Paper and Cardboard.
Please ensure that the sample size is φ 125 +/- 5mm.
Please check the status of the power supply (AA battery 1.5V × 2) before use.
* When operating the press roller, please pay attention to its specifications (length 200 +/- 0.5mm, mass 10 +/- 0.5kg).
