Overview
The YINUO YN-COB100 COB Absorbency Tester is a conventional instrument for the determination of Water Absorbency on the surface of paper and Cardboard. It adopts the Cobb (Cobb) test method, so it is also called the Cobb Absorbency Tester. This instrument is mainly used to determine the water Absorbency on the surface of sizing paper and Cardboard including Corrugated Board. Measurement unit area The amount of water absorbed by the surface within a specified time under a certain pressure and temperature (in g/m2) is calculated as C = (G2-G1) × 100, where C is the Cobb water absorption value, G2 is the sample mass after water absorption, and G1 is the sample mass before water absorption.
Features
1. The test area is optional: (100 +/- 0.2) cm ² or (122.718 +/- 0.2) cm ²; 2. The liquid height is fixed at 10mm, and the test water consumption is 100ml +/- 5ml; 3. The length of the pressing roller is 200 +/- 0.5mm, and the mass is 10 +/- 0.5kg; 4. The cup body is made of 316 #stainless steel; 5. The cup lid is made of mg aluminum, and the fully enclosed anode hardening process is used; 6. The sealing ring is made of pure silicone material; 7. The cup lid knob cover is 304 #stainless steel, swirl/spin design, and the lid is opened and closed in one second; 8. Cup body swirl/spin card is made of pure copper, with wear resistance performance; 9. Dimension 396 * 315 * 300mm, weight about 28kg.
Principle
This instrument is based on the Cobb (Cobb) test method, by placing the sample in the test cup, adding the specified amount of water, maintaining the specified time under a certain pressure, measuring the mass difference before and after the sample absorbs water, and calculating the water absorption per unit area. The specific formula is C = (G2-G1) × 100, where C is the Cobb water absorption value, G2 is the sample mass after water absorption, and G1 is the sample mass before water absorption.
Applications
Adhesive Paper, Cardboard, Corrugated Board
Steps
1. Prepare the sample and weigh the mass G1 before water absorption; 2. Place the sample in the test cup to ensure sealing; 3. Add 100ml +/- 5ml of test water; 4. Under the condition of liquid height 10mm, apply pressure to maintain the specified time; 5. Take out the sample and remove the surface excess water with a pressure roller; 6. Weigh the sample mass G2 after water absorption; 7. Calculate the Cobb water absorption value according to the formula C = (G2-G1) × 100.
Notice
• This instrument is only used to measure the Water Absorbency on the surface of paper and Cardboard, and is not suitable for accurately evaluating the writing performance of paper or Cardboard; • The test water consumption should be controlled within the range of 100ml +/- 5ml; • The mass of the pressing roller should be kept at 10 +/- 0.5kg; • Ensure that the sealing ring is intact to prevent water leakage; • Pay attention to the swirl/spin design of the cup lid during operation to avoid excessive force; • Regularly check the swirl/spin abrasion of the cup body.
