Overview
The Bauer Fiber Screening Instrument (Model ZY-BSF) is an instrument used in pulp and paper laboratories to determine the weight average Fiber Length of Pulp fibers by screening method. It is used to measure the proportion of fibers of different lengths in Pulp and grasp the distribution of fibers. It conforms to GB/T 2678.1-1993, TAPPI T233cm-95 and Nordic SCAN M6 standards.
Features
The number of screening stages is 4, with a capacity of 10 liters.
2. Stirrer Rotation speed is (580 +/- 40) r/min.
3. Flow rate 2~ 18L/min adjustable.
4. The screening time can be adjusted from 0 to 9999min.
5. The main material is 304 stainless steel.
6. Dimensions 1300 × 520 × 1400mm, Net weight 130Kg.
7. Supports a variety of sieve configurations, such as long fiber, medium fiber, and short fiber.
Principle
Pulp suspension is injected into a sieve, and the sieve container is equipped with sieves and arranged in a stepped arrangement. When the suspension flows, different sieves retain pulps corresponding to the Fiber Length, which is consistent with the size of the mesh of the sieve plate. After sieving for a certain period of time at a certain water flow speed, collect the fibers on each sieve plate, dry it at a constant weight, and report the results according to the mass percentage of the input sample by the amount of retained fibers.
Applications
Pulp and Paper Laboratory
Standards
GB/T 2678.1-1993, TAPPI T233cm-95, Nordic SCAN M6
Steps
1. Inject Pulp suspension into sieve.
2. Pulp flows on different screens and retains the corresponding fibers.
3. Screen the set time at a certain flow speed.
4. Collect the fibers on each sieve.
5. Dry the fibres and maintain a constant weight.
6. Calculate the percentage of retained fiber to input sample mass.
Notice
• Requires a continuous source of water.
• Power supply voltage is 240W/380V.
• Flow rate and screening time are adjusted according to experimental standards.
• The sieve selection should be configured according to the fiber type (e.g. long fiber, medium long fiber, short fiber).
