Overview
PosiTest HHD is a high voltage holiday detector, mainly used to detect holidays in coatings. It identifies coating defects by generating high voltage electricity and analyzing Electrode voltage and current.
Features
The detection voltage range is wide, from 500V to 35000V.
2. Pulsed DC (30Hz) type, high voltage resolution (10V at 500~ 1000V; 100V at 1kV-35kV).
3. High output accuracy, +/- 5%.
4. Operating temperature range, can be used in -20 ° C to 60 ° C (-4 ° F to 140 ° F) environment.
5. Equipped with 72Wh rechargeable smart lithium battery, Charging time is about 3 hours, long battery life (typical battery life: φ 12 inch rolled steel spring @10kV, 40 hours; φ 40 inch rolled steel spring @10kV, 30 hours).
6, light weight, only 1.8 kg (4 pounds), with battery (no Electrode).
7. Structural design includes Electrode, extension rod, safety trigger button, etc., for easy operation.
Principle
PosiTest HHD mainly has two operating modes: standby mode and detection mode. In detection mode, the instrument generates high voltage electricity, and the electrode voltage and current are analyzed when the charged Electrode moves on the coating surface. When encountering a holiday, the current flows from the Electrode to the substrate and returns to the detector through the ground wire, forming a current loop, which triggers an acoustic and optical alarm. The instrument has a built-in peak reading voltmeter, which can measure and display the output voltage in real time.
Applications
Coatings testing, corrosion engineering, quality control
Standards
AS 3894.1、ASTM D4787、ASTM D5162、ASTM G62、ISO 29601、NACE SPO274、NACE SP0188、NACE SP0490
Steps
1. Make sure the instrument is charged and in standby mode.
2. Connect the ground wire to the grounding cable socket.
3. Install Electrode and/or extension rod as required.
4. Press the safety trigger button to enter the detection mode.
5. Electrode moves smoothly on the surface of the coating to be tested.
6. Observe the output voltage on the display and pay attention to the sound and light alarms.
7. After the detection is completed, release the safety trigger button and return to standby mode.
Notice
• Make sure the instrument is properly grounded before operation.
• Do not use in environments beyond the specified Temperature range.
• Check the battery level before use to ensure that the battery life meets the testing requirements.
• Pay attention to safety during operation and avoid Electrode contact with human body or non-detection targets.
• Regularly check whether the instrument components (e.g. Electrode, grounding wire) are in good condition.
• Please use the original charger when charging and pay attention to the Charging time.
Store in a dry and clean environment.
