Principle
The instrument is designed according to the principle of the Alimendorf tearing instrument. After the pendulum with a certain potential energy in the tearing position is released, the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy and the sample is torn to do work. The force required to tear the sample is indicated on the dial by the pointer. This force is the tearing value of the sample, in mN.
