Overview
JINGKELIAN QXD 0-100 Fineness Gauge is a measurement tool for inspection of particle fineness such as pigments, fillers and impurities in Paints, Pastes and inks. The measurement results are expressed in microns.

Principle
The Fineness Gauge by placing the sample to be tested in its precision-machined scraping groove, using the matching drawdown blade after scraping, observing the scale position of the particles appear, thereby determining the maximum particle size of the particles in the sample, in order to evaluate its fineness.

Steps
1. Drop the sample to be tested on the deeper end of the Fineness Gauge.
2. Use the matching drawdown blade, keep it perpendicular to the plate surface, and scrape the sample to the shallower end of the scraping groove at a uniform speed.
3. After scraping the sample, under the specified Illuminant, immediately observe the scale value of the particles uniformly exposed at a certain angle to the plane of the scraping groove.
4. The scale value is the fineness reading of the sample.
Notice
• Fineness Gauge and drawdown blade clean, drying and abrasion free before use.
• The scraping operation needs to be completed quickly, evenly, and at one time to avoid pauses.
• The reading should be completed within 3 seconds after scraping the sample to avoid solvent volatilization affecting the results.
• It should be cleaned with a suitable solvent immediately after use and kept properly.
