Principle
Short span compression refers to the compressive force on a unit width of paper and Cardboard specimens when they begin to break, expressed in kN/m; short-range compression index refers to the Short Span Compression Test divided by Basis Weight, expressed in N.m/g. The test principle is: a 15mm wide specimen is sandwiched between two fixtures 0.7mm apart to compress until it breaks, the short-range compression force is measured, and the Short Span Compression Test is calculated.
Applications
Paper and Cardboard for the Manufacture of Cartons and Cartons
Standards
GB/T 2679.10、ISO 9895、TAPPI T826、QB/T 2386
Steps
Prepare a 15mm wide specimen.
2. Clamp the specimen pneumatically between two clamps 0.7mm apart.
3. Start the instrument for compression testing until the specimen is destroyed.
4. The instrument automatically measures the short-range compression force and calculates the Short Span Compression Test.
5. After the test, you can print the report directly through the built-in thermal printer, or upload the data to the Cloud as a Service through WIFI.
Notice
• Power supply voltage needs to be AC220V +/- 10%, 50Hz.
• The working environment should be indoor temperature 20 +/- 10 ℃, relative humidity < 85%.
• Ensure that the specimen width is 15mm and the fixture free spacing is 0.7 +/- 0.05mm.
• Note that the Instrument Indication Error is +/- 1% and the indication variability is < 1%.
• The instrument weight is about 42kg, and safety should be paid attention to when handling and placing.
