Overview
The Fungilab CV003-005 Capillary Viscometer is a precision measuring instrument based on the Ubbelohde ASTM standard, model 1C, for the determination of liquids in the viscosity range of 6 to 30cSt. It calculates kinematic viscosity by measuring the flow time of liquids in capillary tubing and is widely used in many industrial and research fields.

Principle
At a certain temperature, when the liquid flows in an upright capillary tubing in a state of complete wetting of the tube wall, its kinematic viscosity is proportional to the flow time. When measuring, the time to flow out of the Capillary Viscometer is measured with a standard liquid with known kinematic viscosity, and then the time to flow out of the sample from the same Viscometer is measured. The viscosity of the sample is calculated.

Steps
1. Prepare a standard liquid with known kinematic viscosity
2. Fill the standard liquid into the Capillary Viscometer and measure its outflow time
3. Washing and drying Viscometers
4. Fill the sample liquid into the same Viscometer and measure its outflow time
5. Calculate the viscosity of the sample according to the outflow time of the standard liquid and the sample

• Ensure that the capillary tubing is completely clean and drying to avoid residues affecting the measurement results
• Control measurement Ambient Temperature constant to ensure the accuracy of viscosity calculation
• Check the Viscometer for damage or blockage before use
