Overview
The Fungilab CV003-007 Capillary Viscometer uses the Ubbelohde ASTM size 2 specification and has a viscosity measurement range of 20 to 100cSt. Based on the principle of the capillary method, the instrument determines the kinematic viscosity by measuring the flow time of liquids in capillary tubing and is widely used in various industrial and research fields.
Features
1. Ubbelohde ASTM standard design to ensure measurement accuracy
2.The viscosity measurement range covers 20~ 100cSt, suitable for medium viscosity liquids
3. Based on the principle of capillary method, easy and reliable operation
4. Suitable for a variety of liquid samples, including fluids in petroleum, chemical, and other fields
Principle
At a certain temperature, when the liquid flows in an upright capillary tubing in a state of complete wetting of the tube wall, its kinematic viscosity is proportional to the flow time. When measuring, the time to flow out of the Capillary Viscometer is measured with a standard liquid with known kinematic viscosity, and then the time to flow out of the sample from the same Viscometer is measured. The viscosity of the sample is calculated.
Applications
Petroleum, chemical industry, light industry, electromechanical, national defense, transportation, coal, metallurgy, food, paper, Spinning & weaving, scientific research, institutions of higher learning
Steps
1. Prepare a standard liquid with known kinematic viscosity
2. Time measurement of standard liquid from Capillary Viscometer
3. Prepare the sample liquid
4. Time measurement of specimen outflow from the same Capillary Viscometer
5. Calculate the viscosity of the sample according to the outflow time of the standard liquid and the sample
Notice
• Make sure the liquid completely wetting the capillary wall
• The measurement process needs to be carried out at a constant temperature
• Make sure Viscometer is clean and pollution-free before use
• Strictly follow the operation steps to perform the measurement
• Select the appropriate size Viscometer to match the sample viscosity range
