Overview
The Fungilab CV004-205 Capillary Viscometer is a viscosity measurement instrument designed with the Cannon-Fenske Routine, model 150, with a viscosity measurement range of 7 to 35cSt. The product is based on the principle of capillary method and determines the kinematic viscosity of liquids by measuring their flow time in capillary tubing.
Features
1. Using Cannon-Fenske Routine Design
2. Accurate viscosity measurement range 7~ 35cSt
3. Suitable for a variety of liquid viscosity determination
4. Based on standard capillary tubing viscosity measurement principle
Principle
At a certain temperature, when the liquid flows in an upright capillary tubing in a state of complete wetting of the tube wall, its kinematic viscosity is proportional to the flow time. When measuring, use a liquid with known kinematic viscosity as a standard, measure the time it takes to flow out of the Capillary Viscometer, and then measure the time it takes for the sample to flow out of the same Viscometer. The viscosity of the sample can be calculated.
Applications
Petroleum, chemical industry, light industry, electromechanical, national defense, transportation, coal, metallurgy, food, paper, Spinning & weaving, scientific research, institutions of higher learning
Steps
1. Use a standard liquid of known kinematic viscosity for calibrating
2. Time measurement of standard liquid from Capillary Viscometer
3. Measurement of sample outflow time from the same Viscometer
4. Calculate the kinematic viscosity of the sample according to the flow time
Notice
• Make sure the liquid completely wetting the capillary wall
• The measurement process needs to be carried out at a constant temperature
• Standard liquid should be calibrated before use
• Select the appropriate viscosity range capillary tubing model
• Keep the instrument clean to avoid contamination affecting Measurement accuracy
