Overview
PUSHEN XB-I 8μm Mayer Rods is a laboratory bar with 8 μm wet film thickness, suitable for proofing of Resin, coatings, etc. It uses stainless steel wire winding to form grooves, which is suitable for preparing ultra-thin film wet-film of inks and other products.
Features
1. Very suitable for Spreader thin coatings, such as can paint and paper paint test.
2. For soft materials such as paper, Cardboard, foil, leather, test cardboard, Spinning & weaving products and other effects are most satisfactory.
3. The rods and wires are made of high-grade wear-resistant stainless steel.
4. Spreaders wet film thickness engraved at the end of XB bar.
Principle
Steel wires of different diameters are wound around stainless steel bars of a certain length, and the gaps between the wires are used to prepare films of different film thicknesses. The laboratory bar uses stainless steel wires to wrap around its surface to form grooves, which can prepare wet-films of different wet film thicknesses.
Applications
Test sample preparation for paints, varnishes, inks, glues, etc
Steps
1. Place the sample to be tested on the Spreader substrate.
2. Use Mayer Rods to uniformly Spreader with its wire clearance.
3. Obtain a uniform sample of the specified wet film thickness.
Notice
* The calculation formula of wet film thickness (wet film thickness = Coating Weight g/(Density × Solid content%) per square meter) is for reference only, the actual wet film thickness is also affected by various factors such as product elongation, viscosity, Spreader rod type, etc.
* Sample uniformity, comparability and Film thickness control accuracy are the important basis for testing Appearance or physical properties.
