Overview
The HUITAO CSI-456 pencil hardness tester is a professional device for evaluating film Hardness. It scrapes the surface of the paint film by fixing the Hardness pencil at a 45 ° angle to determine that the hardest pencil will not tear or damage the film. It can also be used to evaluate the Hardness of decorative panels and the resistance of enameled online solvents.
Features
1. The test sample capacity is up to 80, and 2 scratch tests can be performed on each plate
2. Travel distance up to 60mm, a line can be divided into three or five parts
3. The test angle is 45 °, and the enameled wire test is 60 °.
4. Adjustable range of scratch speed is 0.5~ 1mm/s
5. Maximum load up to 1kgf, using equilibrated weight
6. Equipped with automatic specimen base device, automatic pencil swirl/spin device and automatic pencil
7. The power requirements are AC 100V, single phase, 15A, 50/60Hz
8. Device size is compact, 250 * 750 * 480mm
Principle
The tester uses a Hardness pencil to scratch the surface of the film layer to test the surface Hardness of the film layer. The Hardness pencil is fixed at a 45 ° angle, so that the front end of the pen center is in contact with the surface of the film layer, and the appropriate load is applied to move the test platform at a certain speed to move the surface of the film layer through the pen center. The softest pencil level where the film layer does not cause damage (scratches) can be regarded as film layer Hardness.
Applications
Film Hardness Evaluation, Decorative Board Hardness Evaluation, Enameled Wire Solvent Resistance Evaluation
Standards
JIS-C3003、D0202、(K5400)、K5600-5-4、K5651、K6894、K6902、ASTM-D2197、D3363、ISO-15184、GB/T6739
Steps
1. Fix the Hardness Pencil at a 45 ° angle
2. Make the front end of the pencil contact with the surface of the film layer
3. Apply the appropriate load
4. Move the test platform at the standard speed (e.g. JIS specification 0.5mm/s)
5. Observe whether scratches occur on the surface of the film layer
6. Determine the softest pencil grade that will not cause damage as film layer Hardness
Notice
Operators should ensure that the hardest pencils will not tear or damage the film
• The test angle needs to be adjusted according to the test object, and the enameled wire test is 60 °
• The scratch speed needs to be controlled within the range of 0.5~ 1mm/s
• The load must not exceed the maximum 1kgf
• Ensure that the power supply meets AC 100V, single-phase, 15A, 50/60Hz requirements
