Overview
The HUITAO five-finger scratch tester model CSI-113 is mainly used in the automotive industry to detect Abrasion Resistance of smooth and textured plastic trims in interior and exterior trims of automobiles. The instrument is suitable for material and product development and quality control, and can evaluate the performance of plastics, hard materials, abrasion resistance, paints, inks, soft metals, oil carpets, add-ons and other materials.
Features
1. Wide Travel Range: 10-200mm
2. Speed adjustable: 10-200mm/s
3. A variety of scraper head diameters are available: 0.5mm, 0.75mm, 1mm, 3mm, 5mm, 7mm
4. The metal scraper head is made of tungsten carbide material
5. Various pressurized weights and total weight of scraping components are available: 2N, 3N, 4.5N, 5N, 6N, 7N, 8N, 10N, 12N, 15N, 20N
6. Plastic scraping finger adopts polymethyl methacrylate (MMA) (PMMA), diameter 16mm, thickness 1mm, edge radius 0.5mm, Hardness shore D852
Principle
The five-finger scraping tester simulates the abrasion situation in actual use by controlling the scraping head to scrape on the sample surface at a set speed and Travel. Use tungsten carbide or plastic scraping fingers to apply specific pressure to evaluate the wear resistance of the material surface to judge its durability.
Applications
Automotive industry, plastic trim wear testing, material development, quality control
Standards
Ford BN 108-13、Ford BO-162-01、GMW 14698-A、TPJLR.52.004-2009
Steps
1. Select the appropriate scraper head diameter and material according to the test criteria
2. Set the required Travel Range (10-200mm)
3. Adjust speed parameters (10-200mm/s)
4. Select the appropriate pressurized weight Total weight (2N-20N)
5. Install the sample and fix it
6. Start the tester for scraping operation
7. Record Test Results and Evaluate Sample Abrasion Resistance
Notice
• Ensure that the diameter of the scraper head meets the corresponding standard requirements
• Speed buffer should be controlled within the range of 10 +/- 1mm
• Plastic scraping fingers need to be checked regularly for abrasion
• Confirm that the sample is firmly fixed before testing
• Select the appropriate pressurized weight according to the material characteristics
