Overview
The LINSHANG LS235 is a Portable Coating thickness gauge with magnetic Induction and eddy Current Measurement principles for the measurement of Coating thickness on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Measurement range from 0 to 2000μm, high resolution and +/- 3% accuracy, and an integrated ruby Probe design for durability.
Features
1. Using magnetic Induction and eddy Current dual Measurement principle, it can automatically identify the substrate and measure the Coating thickness on iron (Fe) and non-iron (NFe).
2. The Probe tip is made of wear-resistant ruby, and the Probe is a built-in one-piece design, which is sturdy and durable.
3. Measurement range, up to 0~ 2000μm, fine resolution (0.1μm/1μm/0.01mm optional).
4. Measurement accuracy is high, error range is +/- 3%.
5. Supports both μm and mil unit displays, and can be switched quickly.
6. Measurement speed is fast, the measurement interval is only 0.5 seconds.
7. The body is small and lightweight, the size of the host is 100 * 60 * 24mm, and the weight of the battery is only 80g, which is easy to carry.
8. Powered by 2 AAA alkaline batteries, long battery life.
9. Operating temperature range is wide, can work stably in -20 ℃ to 50 ℃ environment.
Principle
The LINSHANG LS235 lacquer film instrument works based on the principle of magnetic Induction and eddy Current. For the measurement of nonmagnetic coatings on ferromagnetic metals (e.g. steel, iron) substrates, the principle of magnetic Induction is used to calculate the Coating thickness by measuring the change of Magnetic flux between the Probe and the substrate. For the measurement of insulating coatings on substrates of non-ferromagnetic metals (e.g. aluminum, copper, stainless steel), the principle of eddy Current is used to calculate the Coating thickness by measuring the change of the electromagnetic field of the Probe coil. The instrument can automatically identify the substrate type and switch the corresponding Measurement mode.
Applications
Automobile manufacturing and maintenance, sheet metal painting, mass inspection, platings measurement, anti-corrosion engineering, aerospace, shipbuilding, Hardware processing
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
Install 2 AAA alkaline batteries.
2. Turn it on and the instrument performs self-test.
3. Place the Probe vertically and smoothly against the surface of the coating to be tested.
4. The instrument automatically recognizes the substrate (Fe or NFe) and completes the measurement, and the thickness value is displayed on the screen.
5. To switch units (μm/mil), press the corresponding function key.
6. After the measurement is completed, the next measurement or shutdown can be carried out.
Notice
• Before measurement, make sure the tested surface is clean, drying and free of attachments.
• During measurement, the Probe must be perpendicular to the measured surface and remain stable.
• Minimum substrate thickness measurement requirements: iron-based (Fe) not less than 0.2mm, non-iron-based (NFe) not less than 0.05mm.
• Minimum curvature radius measurement requirements: convex surface is not less than 5mm, concave surface is not less than 25mm.
• Minimum plane requirements for measurement: diameter not less than φ 25mm.
• Do not use in a strong magnetic field or strong electric field environment, so as not to affect the Measurement accuracy.
• Avoid severe impact or falling of the instrument.
• When not in use for a long time, please remove the battery.
• Ambient Temperature -20 ℃~ 50 ℃, Storage Temperature -50 ℃~ 60 ℃, Do not use or store in extreme environments beyond this range.
