The JFL QXD 0-100μm Grindometer is a single-slot fineness measuring instrument with a range of 0-100μm. The product is made of carbide steel with high Hardness, good heat resistance, Abrasion Resistance and corrosion resistance, ensuring its long service life. It is mainly used to determine the fineness of particles such as pigments and impurities in Paints, paint slurries, and is equipped with a special drawdown blade.
1. Made of carbide steel, Hardness, heat resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, long service life. 2. Single-channe design, the range is 0-100 μm, and the scale unit is μm. 3. Equipped with special drawdown blade, easy to operate.
The Grindometer scrapes through the groove at constant speed and pressure by placing the sample to be tested at one end of the groove with a precise depth scale. The size of the particles in the sample determines where they can be scraped flat in the groove. The fineness of the sample can be determined by observing the depth at which the particles begin to appear on the groove scale.

1. Drop the sample to be tested into the deeper end of the groove of the Grindometer. 2. Hold the matching drawdown blade with both hands so that it is perpendicular to the surface of the scraper. 3. At a uniform speed and appropriate pressure, scrape the drawdown blade from the deep end of the groove to the shallow end. 4. Immediately after scraping the sample (usually within 3 seconds), make the line of sight at a 15-30 degree angle to the groove plane and observe the location where the particles are uniformly exposed. 5. Read the scale value where the particles begin to appear uniformly on the groove scale, which is the fineness of the sample.
• Before use, make sure that the scraper and drawdown blade are clean, drying and abrasion-free. • When scraping, the drawdown blade must be kept vertical and uniform, and the speed should not be too fast or too slow. • The reading should be completed quickly after scraping the sample to avoid sample flow or drying affecting the results. • Immediately after use, clean the scraper and drawdown blade with a suitable solvent and keep them properly to prevent bumping and damaging the measurement surface. • This instrument is a precision measuring tool and should be avoided in a humid and corrosion environment.
