Overview
The TQC VF2123 wide-channel Fineness Gauge is a wide-groove stainless steel single-channe Grindometer produced by TQC in the Netherlands. It is made of Swiss 1.2805 tool steel and has the advantages of Abrasion Resistance and corrosion resistance. The Fineness Gauge has a smooth and easy-to-maintain surface, can be operated by hand, and has a graded slope design with +/- 2 microns High Accuracy.
Features
1. Wide groove design, groove width 37mm
2. Made of Swiss 1.2805 tool steel, wear-resistant and anti-corrosion
3. High Accuracy up to +/- 2 microns
4. The surface is fine and smooth, easy to maintain
5. Handheld operation, easy to use
6. Graded slope design, range 0~ 100μm
7. Provide calibrated certificate
Principle
Fineness detection is done by grinding pigments into finer particles and dispersing them in a fluid device. The fineness depends not only on the actual size of the individual particles, but also on the degree to which they are dispersed. When using Fineness Gauge, the sample is scraped in a graded ramp groove, and the fineness is determined by observing the scale value where the particles are uniformly exposed in the groove.
Applications
Paints, Coatings, pigments, raw materials, plastics, Printing inks, chocolate, ceramics, paper, food
Standards
ASTM D1210、ASTM D1316、DIN 53203、DIN EN ISO NF21524、FTMS 141 a M.4411.1 ISO1524、NFT 30 046
Steps
1. Clean the gauge and drawdown blade with the specified solvent and dry
2. Mix the sample well
3. Drop an appropriate amount of sample into the deepest part of the groove
4. Hold the drawdown blade vertical scraping, smoothly pull from deep to shallow
5. Incline the fineness meter immediately and observe the reading at a 15-30 degree angle
Notice
• The reading should be completed within 5 seconds after scraping
• The drawdown blade should be perpendicular to the surface of the gauge
• The scraping speed should be stable and appropriate
• The sample should be able to fill the groove with a slight excess
• When observing, the line of sight should be at an angle of 15-30 degrees to the groove plane
