Overview
The Leneta Form 1B Opacity Chart is a special test cardboard for measuring the hiding power of coatings, inks and other products. Its size is 194 x 289mm, 250 sheets per box. The cardboard is designed as a three-stage structure of upper black sealed, medium white sealed, and lower white unsealed, which conforms to ASTM international standards.
Features
1. Special design: The three-stage structure of black and white sealed and unsealed combination is specially optimized for measurement hiding power.
2. Standard compliance: Products comply with ASTM international standards to ensure the authority and comparability of test results.
3. Uniform specifications: Each sheet size is 194 x 289mm, each box is 250 sheets, and the Encasement specifications are consistent, which is convenient for laboratory batch use and management.
4. Clear application: dedicated to the determination of hiding power of coatings, inks and other products.
Principle
The Opacity Chart provides a contrast background for coatings by the difference in the reflection of light in different areas of the surface (black sealed, white sealed, white unsealed). Spreader the paint to be tested evenly on the paper, and after drying, calculate the hiding ratio (hiding power) by measuring the reflectance of the coating in the black area and the white area (or by visual/instrumental comparison). Hiding ratio 100% indicates that the coating completely covers the underlying background color difference.
Applications
Paints, inks
Steps
Spreader the paint evenly on the Form 1B Opacity Chart according to the film steps.
2. Wait for the film to be fully dried by air.
3. Using the instrument for objective evaluation, the hiding power value can be measured and automatically displayed within 1 second.
Notice
* Mix paints and other paints evenly before Spreader.
* Spreader should use the correct lame plating or scraping method to ensure that the film thickness is appropriate, flat and uniform.
The test environment should be well lit for accurate observation or measurement.
* The film needs to be fully dried before evaluation.
* The test paper can also be used for hiding ratio detection of transparent film and plastic products with similar methods.
* When performing extended tests such as levelling and sag, refer to the corresponding ASTM standard methods and match with special accessories (such as levelling devices, anti-sag devices, specific scratch paper, etc.).
