The Leneta Form 5C Opacity Chart is a 194 x 260 mm high-end test paper designed for hiding power testing and levelling sag testing of coatings, inks and other products. The upper half is white and the lower half is black. It has excellent physical performance and is an important tool in laboratory and industrial testing.

Principle
The Opacity Chart provides a contrasting background for coatings through its black and white base color. Spreader the paint evenly on the paper, and after drying, evaluate the degree of coverage of the black and white areas by the coating through instrumentation or visualization. The hiding power (hiding ratio) is calculated as: Y black/Y white * 100%. The closer the value is to 100%, the stronger the covering ability. There is no difference between black and white areas after film when completely covered.

Steps
1. Spreader the paint to be tested evenly on the Form 5C Opacity Chart according to the film steps.
2. Wait for the film to fully dry in the air.
3. Use professional instruments to objectively evaluate the dried film, the instrument can quickly measure and display the hiding power value.
Notice
• Ensure that the Spreader process is uniform to obtain accurate test results.
Before testing, the paint should be mixed evenly and adjusted to the appropriate temperature and viscosity.
• The film should be dried horizontally under standard conditions (e.g. 23 ° C).
• When conducting advanced tests such as levelling sag, it is necessary to strictly follow ASTM standard methods and use supporting equipment (such as levelling device, anti-sag device, specific scratch sample paper, etc.).
• Opacity Chart can also be used for hiding ratio detection of transparent film and plastic products.
• For best results, it is recommended to use it with a dedicated Applicator rod and other configurations.
